Sex hormones aging describes age-associated decline and altered regulation of estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone. These hormones influence reproduction, bone integrity, muscle maintenance, cardiovascular health, and brain function. With aging, reduced sex hormone levels disrupt tissue homeostasis and metabolic balance. Sex hormones aging contributes to bone loss, muscle decline, fat redistribution, and cognitive changes. Hormonal fluctuations also affect mood and immune regulation. Sex hormones aging differs between sexes but influences systemic aging in both. Understanding sex hormone changes provides insight into gender-specific aging patterns and intervention strategies.
