This Mental Health, Cognition and Late-Life Wellbeing session focuses on mental health and psychological wellbeing in older adults, beyond neurodegenerative disease. Topics include late-life depression, anxiety, sleep disorders, substance use, serious mental illness, and their interaction with physical morbidity. Presentations will also consider resilience, purpose, coping, and positive psychological constructs as determinants of successful aging. The track will include studies on screening tools, treatment strategies, collaborative care models, and digitally delivered mental health interventions adapted for older populations. Emphasis will be placed on links between mental health, cognitive function, social engagement, and overall quality of life in aging.
