Active Aging

Active Aging

Active aging emphasizes continued participation in social, economic, cultural, and physical activities throughout aging. It supports autonomy, mobility, and meaningful engagement in daily life. Active aging recognizes that activity supports physical strength, cognitive health, and emotional well-being. Biological aging processes can be slowed by maintaining activity across multiple domains. Active aging also reduces risk of frailty and social isolation. This concept promotes inclusive approaches that enable older adults to remain contributors to society while maintaining health and dignity.
