Abstract:

Longevity has become a financially lucrative, enduring topic ever since thefirst signs of a decline in human life expectancy, the diminishing faith in nature’s self-healing powers, and the outbreak of wars that threaten everything.
There are several methods that are unlikely to achieve the desired longevity:
1) Methods based on the idea that individual functions of the human body could lead to longevity;
2) Methods based on the idea that taking certain medications and/or foods could lead to longevity;
3) Methods based on the idea that strengthening the body and mind couldlead to longevity.
Why? – You’ll find out in my lecture:
After learning about the various functions of Qi in the human body andhowthey can be altered through the practice of appropriate exercises, you’ll at least theoretically understand what Qigong can achieve. However, for it toactually work, such exercises must be practiced regularly every day. This is not a waste of time, because we’ll grasp connections more quickly, work moreefficiently, sleep better and less—and much more besides. The time lost canthus be regained, for example for the benefit and enjoyment of the wholefamily or for other personal pursuits.
